INTRODUCTION 

My name is Karen McDermott, and I'm not a marketer; I'm a teacher. I've been helping Los Angeles area teachers pass the CSET Single Subject English Exam for more than ten years.

 

In 2002, while teaching high school English, I was hired by Los Angeles Unified School District to teach weekend Praxis, SSAT, and CSET classes. Today I teach Business English classes at Glendale College and continue to offer CSET seminars a few times per year.

 

I earned my BA in English from Rutgers University, my Juris Doctorate from USD School of Law, and my Master's Degree in English from California State University. 

 

I practiced law for five years before transitioning into teaching, and I used many of the test-taking techniques that helped me pass the California Bar Exam in developing my CSET classes and study guides.
